The Future of same sex marriages

In Washington, the Obama administration is moving with commendable diligence and speed to extend benefits to gay and lesbian married couples. The House informed all 435 representatives and their staff members in all 50 states that they have 60 days to enroll their same-sex spouses for benefits like vision, dental and long-term care insurance and survivors’ annuities. After the decision by the Supreme Court holding that Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is unconstitutional, President Obama directed federal departments to ensure the decision and its implication for federal benefits for same-sex legally married couples are implemented swiftly and smoothly. Governor Jay Nixon Vetoes Missouri SB 267

Governor Jay Nixon vetoed SB 267 in Missouri. Hence judicial consideration of any body of law from outside the USA by Missouri courts is limited. This veto is for the benefit of Missouri families in easing adoptions from outside the USA. Missouri Families have adopted 5,852 children from outside the US in the most recent statistical year (2011)
